Painted August 2003

The quality of i-Kore's rank-and-file figures is really quite amazing. They are not as detailed as the character figs, but they have nice poses, a smooth surface, and good proportions. This guy is from one of the packs with three figures in each (a female and two males). Of course I've painted the female long ago while the two guys have been works in progress for ages. I'm glad I finally got around to painting him, because it was a lot of fun.

I'm a little tired of painting the huge i-Kore weapons NMM style. It gets boring after a while, so for this fig, I wanted something else. My boyfriend came up with the idea of a comet/fireball and after telling him that is was a stupid and impossible idea, I decided to give it a try. I outlined the fireball in Scab Red and continued highlighting with Red Gore --> Blod Red --> Blazing Orange --> Fiery Orange --> Golden Yellow --> Sunburst Yellow --> Skull White. It didn't take that long, and I think it looks quite cool.

The tartan was painted the usual way with Foundry Greens and the new GW Terracotta. I should probably have highlighted the skin a little more, but overall I'm quite happy with him :)
