Cowgirl (Copplestone)

Painted November 2003

This Mexican style cowgirl was one of my entries in the fourth annual Chick Challenge. I really like the sculpt even though some of the details are a bit sloppy and the casting quality could be better.

I thought about painting her like a square dancer with a pink skirt and everything, but my boyfriend talked me out of it. Instead I used brown colours (again). I tried to make the boots and the skirt look like leather, and I think that worked out ok. I'm really happy with her shirt. I looks very cowgirlish. The hair also turned out well. Highlighting black hair with brown works so much better than grey or blue.
